Section 5.A analysis

This was an analysis of 5.A by Brandon Clemons and Owen Dailey. This analysis was about how the Reserrectuon of Christ was signifigant to Christian teachings. However, we also talk about Gods kingdom.

Point 1 Analysis

This article states that the pope is a monarchy, which in a way is true, the Holy See is the "supreme ruler" of the church, but the author was saying that Jesus was saying that the Pope should lead the Church in union with the bishops, a commitee decision, so that the one Pope does not become corrupt.

M.R. 5.A: Analysis on Article, Point One.

The author is trying to convey the sense in which that Church leadership was established, and that it was not intended in any way to be a corrupt monarchy, but it was intended to be a monarchy, as scripture said. Jesus did in fact plan for a monarchial papacy, but not one corrupted and venal, like the Church of the past. Evidence for a monarchial papacy extends back into scripture, where in Isaiah 22:22, the prophe recognizes Eliakim as the protector of the House of David, which was Jesus' line. Jesus will rule over the house of Jacob, and become the steward of the House of David.

4.B Analysis on Temptation

Temptation is Satan's greatest weapon. He uses it to confuse us and stray us away from Christ. This tactic even goes back to when Christ was on Earth as a human. After Jesus' baptism, he went into the desert for forty days and was bombarded with temptations such as turning stones into bread. Christ did not give into temptation, but we as mortal human beings are not so lucky, and that is why Jesus died on the cross for our sins.

Connor Healy's Tweet Response, Response

@Dragonblze is incorrect because The Resurrection has many other substantial, secular historical evidence including: http://www.reasonablefaith.org/is-there-historical-evidence-for-the-resurrection-of-jesus-the-craig-ehrman in addition, dieing for a belief, or movement, such as Nazism and Islam, but dieing claiming an event is true substantiates the existance of the event.

M.R 4F: Analysis of tweet

  1. PROBLEM SOLVING: Reasons for Resurrection. Make a blog post, educreations, or idea sketch.
    • Mr. Healey posted a tweet. (Look below to read it)  Someone responded back. (look below to read it.)  Use your problem solving skills to show why Mr. Healey is right and the other person is wrong.
      1. hint 1: know the difference between supporting a cause/faith and supporting a fact/real event.
      2. hint 2: You have to be able to understand they would be purposefully lying, so are promoting a lie, not just a faith in something.
      3. hint 3: We are talking about the eyewitnesses and first believers, not Christians a century later.

Conor claims that the Resurrection is justfied through the strength and fortitude of the individuals who tested it. When the other guy claims that this can be the case for every other belief system in the world, he is wrong. Unlike Islam and Nazism, the apostles were putting their lives, and furthermore, their salvation on the line specifically by abandoning their God of Judaism by following Christ's teachings. Why would many of these individuals go to their death to believe that they were just lying? Doesn't make sense. For the Resurrection to be justified through the Apostle's deaths, they would have to believe in something with all their being.

M.R 4F: Significance of the Resurrection.

  1. PROBLEM SOLVING: How are our sins forgiven? How does Christ explain/set it up?
    1. give evidence and explanations
    2. include the importance of this section

Our sins are forgiven throught the sacrament of Reconciliation and throught God's forgiveness, and throught other sacraments such as Eucharist, and Baptism. Christ gives us the the ideas of forgiveness throught Christ being the ultimate intermediary throguth God. One example of this is when Christ forgives the prostitute's sin, and when he said "I forgive YOU." Christ dies for us to atone for our sins.

Gandolf Vs. Balrog

Gandalf and the Fellowship of the rings(his followers) are together. As Balrog chases them down his followers abandon him. This symbolizes When the disciples abandon Jesus. With Gandolf having no choice he falls into the Abyss to fight Balrog. This is like when Jesus dies on the cross for us. After a struggle Balrog dies and Gandolf"dies" but rises again. Gandolfs death and revival are exactly like Jesus's passion, death, and resurrection.

Our Educreations video covers premises around purgatory and the souls in it. We discuss with images and an explanation how and why Purgatory is such a touchy topic.

Transfiguration Reflection

If I was in the same place as one of the apostles, I would be in awe of the power of God himself. I would never doubt God's presense in my life. If I was there at the Transfiguration, I would be on my knees asking God for forgiveness for my sins and probably ask Jesus if he could say Mass for me. If I was on of the apostles I would be in wonder and awe for wh and how this occurance happened. I would ask Jesus why I get to witness this extrordinary event in my life.

From an apostle's point of view

I think if I were an apostle witnessing the Transfiguration I would be astounded. The fact that Jesus reveals his true self to me as an apostle, I would be in shock. I think though, that it would help me understand Jesus in a closer manner, rather than to hear the things he claims. I think that it would aid in understanding Christ's nature, which is also why I think it ties into the story where Jesus askes the disciples about who he is. I would think with more caution, a more concerned manner, especially after Jesus says he must go to Jerusalem to suffer.  Jesus was so trusting in revealing himself to us, and with that information I would have to be a worthy and reliable source.

MR 4.B Defeating the prince of darkness

MR 4.B Defeating the Prince of Darkness

The bigger the word the more that it is used in the passage. The word Jesus is used most often, probably because Jesus is more powerful than the devil.

Analysis Wedding at Cana

My Ideasketch is better than most others' because it haas accurate information from a reliable source, the book. Our group worked very hard on it. The Wedding at Cana is very important to Catholic Theology.

What I learned from the eduCanon video

I learned that Jesus changed water to wine at the Wedding at Cana.
