From an apostle's point of view
I think if I were an apostle witnessing the Transfiguration I would be astounded. The fact that Jesus reveals his true self to me as an apostle, I would be in shock. I think though, that it would help me understand Jesus in a closer manner, rather than to hear the things he claims. I think that it would aid in understanding Christ's nature, which is also why I think it ties into the story where Jesus askes the disciples about who he is. I would think with more caution, a more concerned manner, especially after Jesus says he must go to Jerusalem to suffer. Jesus was so trusting in revealing himself to us, and with that information I would have to be a worthy and reliable source.
